Sweet smell in the vineyards...

July, 1st

Tying-up and disbudding are finally over and we started this morning trellising, this time with the sun and with a "sweet-smelling flower." In fact, I think we can say that this is the full flower.

Trelissing vine stock

But we found some mildew patches

The vine grew

June, 28th

The weather is not on our side again this year ... The temperatures are high and low (mostly low at this time, at least 6°C below the standard...), rainfall is relatively high and therefore the sun is almost absent ... But the vine continues to grow, and even quite quickly.

Before tying up: Difficult to find our way. In two weeks time, the Pinot Noirs in Courcelles grew well. The plot is tyed-up at the last "nail". Waiting for trellising.

After tying-up: We see more clearly! The vines are prettier and the risk of breakage is thus limited.

The first shots shears (by hand) were also given. The vines show off their lines and their beautiful summer green. It only needs the sun and heat!

Blooming

June, 25th

Shy start of the blooming

We are still far from full flower and thus the harvest which usually takes place between 90 and 100 days after full bloom...

Take a trip back in time with these two links that show June 2011 and June 2010. We're a kind of behing schedule...

Tying-Up, weather and wildlife

June, 23rd

Tying-up continues. We are now almost at the last "nail". Trellising approaches  and first shots of shear will be given.

A surprise in the middle of the Chardonnay of "Jardin"'s plot

With the rain of the last days, the snails are out... We might develop a snail activity...

We are officially in summer, but the weather doesn't seem to know. The sun makes long games of hide and seek with the clouds and temperatures have plummeted.

The first "flowers" were seen in Chardonnays in Avize, but also in Courcelles-Sapicourt in the plot of Pinot Noirs. Expect full flower to try to announce the dates of harvest...

The Sun and Let's go

June, 7th

This week has been a week finally like June! Worthy Spring or even summer. Like everyone else, it's good for morale, but not only. The vine also benefits and returns to its dynamic growth. Chardonnays are averaging 7 leaves unfolded, the Pinot Noirs to 6 leaves unfolded and Pinot Noirs 5 leaves unfolded.

We can see the "grapes" now.

New Look

June, 6th

Demi-Sec is also entitled to have a makeover session. Well, that's done. This is the last one to put on the new label.

As usual, only the label changes. Champagne in the bottle remains the same quality!

Another rainy day

May, 30th

The days go by and look the same... Even a rainy day (18mm)
The soil is full of water as shown in the photos and the vine does not grow fast...
